The Lodge at Amicalola Falls Begins a Multi-Million Dollar Renovation

The 23 Year Old Lodge Will Get a Fresh New Look Complementing Its Dramatic Mountain Location

DAWSONVILLE, Ga., July 21, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A major renovation of the Lodge at Amicalola Falls in Dawsonville, GA is now underway. Opened in 1991, the 57 guestroom Lodge, that also offers 14 separate cabins and the popular hike-in only accommodations, will receive a major redesign under the direction of the State of Georgia and the management of Coral Hospitality. The Lodge, which will remain open to guests during the renovation process, will welcome visitors in late fall with an alluring new lobby, completely refreshed guestrooms, and extensive upgrades and improvements to all of the cabins.

"Amicalola State Park with its beautiful falls and dramatic scenery is a great source of pride for the state of Georgia," said Cynthia Segers, General Manager the Lodge at Amicalola. "The renovations at the Lodge and cabins are designed to enhance our visitors' experience, provide world-class accommodations and dining, while reflecting on the iconic and beautiful park setting," added Ms. Segers.

Drawing from the surrounding beauty of the Amicalola Waterfalls, guests will find an exquisite sense of place. Handsome furnishings in the Craftsman style will be arranged in the new Lobby for conversation, with the focal point of the gathering space being a natural fireplace. From the Lobby guests will experience Amicalola Falls through artwork and photography. The popular Maple Restaurant will receive a new outdoor dining area overlooking the beautiful mountains. There will also be the addition of sophisticated new meeting rooms and event space that is perfect for small business gatherings or social events including weddings. In addition, all of the public restrooms will be upgraded with elegant new fixtures and marble countertops.

Each of the Lodge's 57 guestrooms will be given a fresh, designer look with new windows, flooring and wall coverings in rich earth tones complemented with natural wood and stone textures. Guests will enjoy new luxury king and queen sized bedding with plush duvets. Bathrooms are being upgraded with new marble countertops, and for additional comfort there will be new lighting, new electronics and 42" flat screen TVs. Each of the 14 cabins will also receive a complete remake with new flooring, new furnishings, and renovated bathrooms. Kitchens will be upgraded and guests will find new beds and new bedding, as well as flat screen TVs.
