FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., July 22, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- JDL Technologies announced today the company is hosting a special training seminar for HIPAA Compliance Officers and personnel performing that role for their medical facilities and healthcare practices.
The training is open to members of the healthcare provider community and advance registration is required due to limited seating. The seminar will take place on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, from 9am to 4pm, at the Doubletree by Hilton in Orlando, Florida.

Attendees will learn their responsibilities and liabilities under the latest HIPAA guidance, including the 2013 Omnibus Rule and Florida Statute 501.171, and actions they should take to meet these HIPAA compliance standards. This information is especially important as the Health & Human Services Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has begun auditing smaller and mid-size practices and imposing penalties for audit failures and other compliance violations.
The registration fee includes meals as well as 6.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and the HIPAA Compliance Kit. The seminar will address risk management, security and data breach response, security assessments and system activity review, cybersecurity for the HIPAA compliance officer, the OCR audit protocol, and an information technology review of HIPAA requirements. The seminar meets HIPAA requirements for compliance officer training, and a completion certificate will be provided along with a certificate for 6.5 CEUs.
