Cleveland, Ohio, July 31, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Profiles in Diversity Journal announced today the winners of its 11th Annual Innovations Award. Winners will be featured in the publication's July/August 2014 issue, according to James R. Rector, Founder, CEO & Publisher.
"The ideas we celebrate in our Annual Innovations in Diversity Awards issue are igniting movements in the organizations that gave them berth to create and sustain a more diverse and inclusive workplace," said Rector. "I believe that's what makes our award so different. Its purpose is not to recognize just the biggest ideas or the largest corporate investments or even the companies and organizations we admire most. Instead, the purpose of this award is to share with an international community of like-minded organizations the innovative tools and ideas that can help move their diversity efforts forward."
The organizations awarded represented corporations, nonprofits, government agencies and health systems from across North America.
The top ten Innovations Award Winners are very different in their approaches to diversity and inclusion, and stood out in the eyes of judges not only for the level of commitment involved, but for their ability to inspire and be imitated by other organizations.
For example, Entelo Diversity provides a groundbreaking new sourcing technology that helps companies find and hire top talent from underrepresented groups. At Legg Mason, their Board Leadership Program provides employees a unique opportunity to serve together on the nonprofit boards of community organizations.
