GAINESVILLE, Fla., Aug. 7, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Trendy Entertainment, the independent studio behind the multi-platform tower defense and action-RPG video game, Dungeon Defenders, today took a new leap forward in its mission to develop engaging software for both gaming audiences and developers with the appointment of Robert J. Moore as its next Chief Technology Officer. A two-decade veteran of the entertainment software and hardware industries, Mr. Moore joins Trendy after many years developing for the console and mobile markets in executive and management positions.

"Rob Moore's long career includes a list of some of the most influential titles of the last fifteen years. His extensive experience launching both software and hardware will be essential for us as we near the release of Dungeon Defenders II and further develop our existing and upcoming product portfolio," explained Trendy Entertainment CEO Darrell Rodriguez. "And as a fellow former EA employee, I'm personally overjoyed to be playing on the same team as him once more."
As Chief Technology Officer for EA Tiburon and, later, EA Sports – where he also served as Vice President – Mr. Moore was instrumental in controlling development costs and processes as Electronic Arts rapidly expanded its staff and project roster. Throughout the course of a decade as a tech executive for the publisher, he contributed to the growth of EA's Madden NFL, NCAA Football, FIFA, Tiger Woods and NHL franchises, among others. He also played a key part in the technical design and development of Nintendo's GameCube console as a Graphics Manager at Nintendo of America.
A major focus of Mr. Moore's new role will be to refine and innovate upon Trendy Entertainment's proprietary playverse platform, a multifaceted toolkit built to empower the visions of game makers both inside and outside the studio. "I believe playverse is an important technology that fills a significant void in the current game development ecosystem." Mr. Moore added. "Trendy has a great base to build from with a talented team, and I'm excited to come in and help them capitalize on the opportunity."
Dungeon Defenders II is currently in development and is preparing to launch later this year for PC, Mac & Linux. For news and updates as the release approaches, please visit www.DungeonDefenders2.com, and follow along on www.facebook.com/DungeonDefenders and Twitter (@TrendyEnt).
