EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Aug. 19, 2014) -
Starting Tuesday, August 19th and running through to Friday, September 12, Booster Juice is asking you to consider donating $1, $2 or $5 to The Mike Weir Foundation when you visit one of the 300 participating Booster Juice locations across Canada. In recognition for your donation you will receive a paper 'golf ball' on which you can write your name and the golf ball will be added to the collection on the store wall. "Through the last 15 years Booster Juice has had an opportunity to support hundreds of causes across the country," said Dale S. Wishewan, President and CEO of Booster Juice. He added, "This one is especially exciting due to Booster Juice's partnership with Mike and his foundation. His foundation's support of children's charities aligns so well with our own initiatives of working with children across Canada."
The Mike Weir Foundation, created in 2004, is dedicated to advancing the physical, emotional and educational welfare of children in Canada. "I am especially proud that since 2004, The Mike Weir Foundation has raised $7 million for children's charity in Canada," said Mike Weir. "I am excited that through my partnership with Booster Juice we are able to roll out a campaign in stores from coast to coast that will not only help raise awareness for The Mike Weir Foundation, but will help us reach our foundation goal of $10,000,000 for children's hospitals and children's charities in Canada. Thank you to everyone for your support."
About Mike Weir
Weir emerged as one of the game's brightest stars with his Masters victory, a dramatic playoff win over Len Mattiace, and came back to a hero's welcome in Canada, which included him dropping the ceremonial face-off puck at a Toronto Maple Leafs playoff game, the perfect 'Canadian-style' celebration for the hockey fan Weir. His breakthrough year on the PGA Tour earned him the 2003 Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada's top athlete of the year and the Lionel Conacher Award, given to Canada's top male athlete of the year, an award he previously won in 2000 and 2001.
Weir has used his success as a professional golfer as a platform for helping other families in need with the creation of The Mike Weir Foundation in 2004. Mike launched a national fundraising program through his foundation, called the Mike Weir Miracle Golf Drive for Kids, supporting Children's Miracle Network.
On a national level, Weir's success and contributions through charitable work have attributed to two Order of Canada inductions (2007,2009). In 2009, Weir also became an inductee into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame. Mike Weir has enjoyed success in golf unmatched by any other Canadian, but in his mind, there is still plenty of work to do when your goal is to be one of the best in the world.

In addition to their signature smoothies, their menu offers fresh-squeezed juices, hot food, and snacks.
