Mr. McDaniel brings over 40 years of experience in the energy industry to Aquion's board of directors. Mr. McDaniel spent 37 years with Edison International (NYSE: EIX), a publicly traded company with $48 billion in assets, where he served as chief financial officer and treasurer. EIX's subsidiaries include Southern California Edison, a regulated utility, and the Edison Mission Group, an independent power company that develops, owns and operates U.S.-based generation projects involving both fossil fuels and renewables. Prior to January 1, 2005, Mr. McDaniel served as chairman, chief executive officer and president of Edison Mission Energy, an independent power producer based in California.
He currently serves as a director and chairman of the board of Tendril Networks, a provider of smart grid and energy management software services, and is a director of SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ: SPWRA), which manufactures high-efficiency photovoltaic solar panels and develops residential, commercial and utility scale solar power systems. Mr. McDaniel also serves as a director for the SemGroup Corporation (NYSE: SEMG), which is a midstream oil and gas service company. In addition, he serves as an advisor to On Ramp Wireless, which delivers machine-to-machine communications network services, and to Cypress Envirosystems, a provider of building energy management technology.
