SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Aug. 26, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Matrix Medical Network® (Matrix), the leading provider of in-home health assessments, has added highly accomplished nursing and business operations executive Heidi Wold, MSN, ARNP, ANP-BC, as Vice President, Chronic Care. In this role, Ms. Wold will lead the company's expanding role in supporting the ongoing care of health plan members with challenging health conditions.
"As we conduct more than 2,000 in-home visits each day, our Nurse Practitioners identify members who need help managing their chronic conditions," said Matrix Chief Medical Officer Zach Gerbarg, MD, CPC. "Our Nurse Practitioners are in a unique and trusted position to support these members and Heidi's leadership allows us to expand our ability to help these individuals."
Ms. Wold has more than 30 years of progressive leadership experience in the healthcare industry. Most recently, she served as the Vice President of Operations, at Walgreens' Take Care Health Systems, Consumer Solutions Group, where she oversaw national operations for the retail clinic business and worked to enhance provider engagement and expand patient care services. Prior to joining Walgreens, Ms. Wold held a series of senior leadership positions with United Healthcare, where she ultimately served as Vice President of Clinical Operations & Chief Nursing Officer. Ms. Wold has a Master's degree in nursing from the University of Florida and an adult Nurse Practitioner certificate from the University of Tampa.
Matrix pioneered the use of an employed Nurse Practitioner network to bring healthcare to Medicare Advantage members where it's needed most—in the home. By delivering care in a comfortable and relaxed home setting, Matrix Nurse Practitioners are able to engage, evaluate and educate members more effectively about managing their care. These skilled clinicians can identify and help coordinate a broad range of care needs by collaborating with Primary Care Providers, health plans and community resources.
"I am delighted to be joining Matrix at such an exciting time," said Ms. Wold. "I see in-home care as an important and necessary part of helping members manage their own health, and we have a great opportunity at Matrix to provide the support that improves the long-term outcomes for health plan members most in need."
