SANTA ANA, CA and BUFFALO, NY--(Marketwired - Sep 5, 2014) - Ingram Micro Inc. (
The funds from each tournament were donated to four local charity organizations, selected by Ingram Micro's Philanthropic Committee. In Santa Ana, Olive Crest, Children's Bureau, Veterans First, and Council on Aging were chosen as beneficiaries; in Buffalo, Heritage Centers, Western New York Heroes, Save the Michaels, and City Kids were selected.
"One of our core values at Ingram Micro is social responsibility, and to be able to give back to our communities this way while also having a great time playing golf with our associates and manufacturer partners is an amazing opportunity," said Paul Bay, president, North America, technology solutions. "Each of these nonprofits serves Ingram Micro's surrounding communities in a unique and profound way, and we're glad to be in a position to support their missions and raise awareness of their positive impacts in Orange County and Buffalo."
The two events, which were made possible in part by donations from manufacturer partners, featured a combined total of nearly 300 golfers and were managed by a total of more than 125 volunteers. The tournaments each featured a silent auction and raffle, using donations from associates and manufacturer sponsors. Proceeds benefitted each region's chosen local charities.
Ingram Micro began hosting charity golf tournaments in 1991 and the two tournaments have raised more than $2.9M to date.
