Western Container Releases Documentary Video About New Ownership, Sustainable Design and Paperboard and Private Label Packaging R&D

KANSAS CITY, MO--(Marketwired - Sep 10, 2014) - Western Container, a Kansas City-based manufacturer of custom paperboard, folding carton and private label packaging solutions, released a new documentary video about its recent leadership change, the company's history, R&D and its successful work with Walmart's sustainability program.

Robert Sweet, president of Western Container, said, "One of our goals in releasing this documentary video is to give the public a better idea of who we are as a company. We've had some major leadership changes this year and are creating a new vision of the company for the future, but we also want to continue in the footsteps of Richard Horton, the company's founder."

In March 2014, Horton passed away and Robert Sweet stepped into a new role as president.

In the video, Sweet emphasizes the core values that Western Container brings to the packaging industry. Founded in 1960 by Horton, the company has made quality and service its top priority for three generations of the Horton family working at Western Container. The video also provides a look into Western Container's in-house engineering and design R&D development group as well as its work with Walmart.
