MAHWAH, N.J., Sept. 12, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Radware® (Nasdaq:RDWR), a leading provider of application delivery and application security solutions for virtual and cloud data centers, today announced its participation at Velocity New York City, September 15-17, 2014.
Scheduled to present during two separate tracks is Tammy Everts, performance evangelist for Radware and Kent Alstad, vice president of acceleration, Radware. Both will discuss Everything You Wanted to Know About Web Performance (But Were Afraid to Ask) and Progressive Image Rendering: Good or Evil? respectively.
On Monday, September 15th, the first presentation will cover a broad set of performance fundamentals such as a brief history of page growth and complexity, the impact of page speed on business metrics as well as front-end optimization techniques. The presentation is aimed to give the attendee a solid foundation in web performance as well as the resources and links to enhance their skills.
On Tuesday, September 16th, Ms. Everts and Mr. Alstad will discuss a proven neuroscientific study on whether progressive image rendering on websites hurt or help user experience. Through the documented study, facial micro-expressions were measured by using automated facial coding technology to ascertain frustration and emotional engagement levels when progressive images rendered at different speeds.
Ms. Everts has spent years researching the technical, business, and human factor of web/application performance. She has shared her research findings through countless blog posts, presentations, case studies, whitepapers, articles, reports, and infographics.
Mr. Alstad has served as architect and lead developer for successful production solutions with The Active Network, ADP, Lucent, Microsoft, and NCS. "Port View", an application Mr. Alstad architected for the Port of Vancouver, was honored as "Best Administrative System" at the 1996 Windows World Open Competition.
Additionally, on September 16th, at 4:15pm, both will be available during "Office Hours" at Table #2, in the exhibition hall to discuss topics related to web performance.
