The We Heart Local Awards is a partnership between BC Agriculture Council, BC Ministry of Agriculture, Global TV, Taku Resort & Marina, BC Association of Farmers' Markets, Little Qualicum Cheeseworks, BC Dairy Association, LOCO BC, BC Restaurants and Foodservices Association and Edible Vancouver.

Here are some of the highlights of the 2014 We Heart Local Awards:

• There were 337 nominees across 15 categories.
• Over 37,000 votes were cast this year, more than tripling the number received in last year's We Heart Local Awards.
• Over 27,000 people visited www.weheartlocalawards.ca to view the nominations and learn about the We Heart Local Awards.
• Weekly prize draws were awarded to all who voted and nominated. In total, we gave out twenty $100 gift cards to a variety of BC Farmers' Markets, and twenty $20 gift cards to Little Qualicum Cheeseworks.
• The Grand prize, a luxurious three-night stay at Taku Resort and Marina for two, valued at over $2000, was awarded to Terri McClymont from Prince George, BC!
