WASHINGTON, Sept. 17, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bank of Georgetown, a leading community bank providing commercial banking solutions to Greater Washington businesses, has hired Bobby Wright as Senior Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer. Wright will be responsible for building and overseeing lending relationships, primarily with commercial and industrial (C&I) businesses in Northern Virginia. With nearly 30 years of banking experience, he most recently served as Chief Corporate Services Officer at Virginia Heritage Bank. In this capacity, he increased deposits while overseeing coordinated sales efforts among cash management, commercial lending and branch personnel.

Wright spent the first 25 years of his career at BB&T and First Virginia Bank, where he held a variety of relationship management positions. During this time, he managed portfolios in the consumer and commercial lending areas and was responsible for business development efforts.

Wright received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the College of William and Mary and graduated from the Virginia Bankers Association School of Bank Management. He is a 2006 graduate of Leadership Arlington and volunteers with numerous organizations. He is a board member of PRS, Inc., a nonprofit that provides skills training and support for individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders and intellectual disabilities. Wright serves on the Finance Committee at Community Residences, Inc., which provides support services to facilitate independent living for individuals with disabilities. Previously, he served on the boards of Bowen McCauley Dance Company, Crisislink, Arlington Chamber of Commerce, American Heart Association-Arlington/Alexandria Chapter and as past president of the Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization.
