SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 7, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Give2Asia, the premier public charity serving Asian philanthropy, announces that its Board of Directors has named Birger Stamperdahl as President & CEO. Mr. Stamperdahl is an eight-year veteran at Give2Asia and has been part of the team that has made Give2Asia a trusted partner of Fortune 500 companies, private foundations and families.
Mr. Stamperdahl officially started in his new role on October 1, 2014, the beginning of Give2Asia's 2015 fiscal year. He will be responsible for overseeing Give2Asia as a platform for social partnerships in 24 countries, since 2001 has resulted in one quarter of a billion U.S. dollars for projects in areas such as health, education, social services, and disaster.

About Birger Stamperdahl
During the past eight years, Mr. Stamperdahl has played a leadership role in all aspects of Give2Asia's operations, such as business development, marketing, program and field network management, strategic planning, and donor stewardship. Since February he has been serving as Give2Asia's Interim President & CEO.
Before joining Give2Asia in 2006, Mr. Stamperdahl was a Vice President at Porter Novelli, helping to lead the agency's technology practice in Silicon Valley. He has 15 years of experience in for-profit and nonprofit business management and marketing. Mr. Stamperdahl holds degrees in Political Science and Journalism from the University of New Hampshire.
