VIP Continues Tradition With 2015 Women in Technology Scholarship (WITS) Program

FOLSOM, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 30, 2014) - Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP), a leading provider of technology solutions that drive enterprise performance, is accepting applications for its annual Women in Technology Scholarship (WITS). Now in its eighth year, the program has awarded nearly $100,000 in aid to more than 60 women across the country.

"Education is the key to a more skilled, productive, and adaptable workforce," said Jonna Ward, CEO of VIP. "We are honored to continue our commitment to not only easing the financial burdens of women pursuing a career in IT, but to advancing the overall development and representation of women in the field."

As in past years, WITS 2015 offers multiple scholarships of up to $2,500 per recipient to women pursuing a career in computer science, information technology (IT), management information systems, computer engineering, or another related field. Applicants must be enrolled at, or accepted into, a two or four year college or university in the United States for the 2015 school year. Candidates will be assessed based on the following criteria:

• Academic Performance
• Major Relevancy and Career Path
• Community Service and Extracurricular Activities
• Leadership Experience and Qualities

Submissions will also be evaluated based on applicant essays, which define and offer meaningful solutions to specific local or statewide information technology problems.
