Screenings taking place during the 2014 Canada China Tibetan Culture Week:
Roof of the World
A revolutionary film exploration that tells the story of how the people of Tibet are integrating with nature, rather than differentiating themselves from it. Multiple camera teams travelled to over 60 locations in Tibet over this incredible 500-day shoot to complete the world's most comprehensive record of Tibet to date, all recorded in 4K resolution.
Dekyi Metok
A story of a young girl and how she faces the challenges of a devastating accident, an entirely different perspective on the resources and morals within the realms of a Tibetan lifestyle.
Thangka (Film selected for Cannes screening in 2012)
"Instead of didactic publicity, I want to present a real Tibet and its changes through stories -- its modernization, its people's pursuit of art and nature," says young Chinese director, Hasi Chaolu.
Live performances during the 2014 Canada China Tibetan Culture Week:
