Celebrate BabyLand's 36th Annual Appalachian Christmas

Welcoming Home Bruce Ashley - Who Made The Wall Street Journal Front Page

CLEVELAND, Ga., Nov. 5, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Saturday, November 22, 2014, the Cabbage Patch Kids® and the Little People® welcome all visitors to take part in BabyLand General Hospitals' 36th Annual Appalachian Christmas Celebration at their world famous birthplace in Cleveland, Georgia. Admission is free!

Enjoy this year's fabulous Christmas wonderland.  Delight in the magical decorations including over 75 different indoor Christmas trees, ranging from stunning 10-foot tall traditional trees to whimsical 3-foot tall themed trees. There will be special activities on site from 8 am to 6 pm.  Visit www.cabbagepatchkids for more details.

The day begins with a Pancake Breakfast with Santa & Mrs. Claus (Cost $10 and reservations required) in the beautiful BabyLand Ballroom. Other activities include hourly prize drawings, Cabbage Patch Kids Costumed Characters, pictures with Santa, free candy canes, strolling Victorian carolers and specially priced toy Cabbage Patch Kids. At 5 p.m. you will want to be present for the Grand Prize drawing for a hand-stitched-to -birth Appalachian Christmas collection Little Person valued at $365.00. The spectacular lighting of BabyLand wraps up the Celebration after the grand prize drawing.

As an extra treat at this year's Celebration, the Cabbage Patch Kids and the Little People will welcome Bruce Ashely back home to be a part of their permanent archives. Born 36 years ago as a part of the first "Helen Blue edition of less than 1,000 hand-stitched soft sculptures, Bruce Ashely, was often featured in early stories about the Cabbage Patch Kids.  After his arrival, Bruce Ashely will be on display in the BabyLand General archives along with the original Wall Street Journal article that first made him famous.

Also new this year is Milk and Cookies with Mrs. Claus. The woman behind the man, Mrs. Claus, manages Santa and a house full of elves at the North Pole year round. Mrs. Claus enjoyed last year's visit to BabyLand General so much, she agreed to return to host Milk and Cookies with Mrs. Claus while Santa visits with the children. Open seating for Milk and Cookies will be from 1 to 4 pm in the Ballroom, cost is $5. No reservations required.

Santa and Mrs. Claus agree with the Cabbage Patch Kids, "It's always nice to have a little extra TLC (Tender Loving Care) during a hectic Holiday Season."  Come and play with the Cabbage Patch Kids and get your TLC while celebrating the Holidays with your family.
