Emmy award winning television host Ricki Lake will be pitching her new film 'Weed The People'; a new documentary coproduced with Abby Epstien that explores the use of medical marijuana in the treatment of pediatric cancer. These are some of the first angel investments in this newly structured sector of the economy. More than two dozen of the top pre-selected entrepreneurs will pitch accredited investors on their cannabis business dreams in a private meeting only open to ArcView members.
When ArcView graced the cover of the April 2013 issue of Fortune Magazine, it had about 40 investor members. It now has more than 375 members, making it one of the largest angel investment groups in the country. Unlike other angel groups of its kind, ArcView focuses exclusively on legal cannabis-related businesses.
Investors looking to invest at least $50,000 into the bourgeoning sector pay an annual fee of $2,500-$8,000 to be members of this elite group. The ArcView Investor Network includes billionaires, tech entrepreneurs turned angel investors, venture capital firms, real estate moguls, some of the largest donors to marijuana policy efforts, and the owners of some of the most successful brands in the fast-growing legal cannabis industry who are looking to make strategic acquisitions.
ArcView Market Research, the market data arm of ArcView, in its 2nd Edition of the State of Legal Marijuana Markets, estimated that in 2013 the legal national cannabis market was $1.5 billion growing in 2014 more than 68% to $2.6 billion, making it the fastest growing industry in America.
