BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Dec 3, 2014) - NaviNet, Inc., America's largest real-time healthcare communications network, serving more than 420,000 users and over 40 health plans, announced today that Oscar Insurance Corporation (Oscar) has chosen NaviNet Open as its real-time, next-generation payer-provider collaboration platform. Oscar will leverage NaviNet Open and the Value-Based Network application Clinical Document Exchange to collaborate more closely with its physician network and support patient-centered clinical workflows and value-based reimbursement (VBR) models.
NaviNet Open Clinical Document Exchange will add to Oscar's capability to exchange clinical documents with its physician network in real time, in response to patient-specific encounters or as part of population health campaigns. Many types of delivered clinical documents have tangible benefits both for improved patient outcomes and clinician success in VBR programs. NaviNet Open Clinical Document Exchange replaces the use of fax, the postal service, and secure FTP -- methods that are expensive, untimely, and/or poorly adopted.
Oscar will utilize NaviNet Open to develop closer relationships with its provider network and continue to make insurance as convenient and user-friendly as possible for consumers. Importantly, convenience and ease of use must translate into quality outcomes, containment of the overall cost of care, and contribute to the members' happiness and satisfaction. Oscar just expanded from New York into New Jersey and is one of five health plans that has offered coverage in that state since November 15 through the Affordable Care Act's (ACA's) Healthcare.gov website.
"We are proud to welcome Oscar to the NaviNet community," stated Frank Ingari, Chief Executive Officer, NaviNet, Inc. "This innovative health plan puts its providers and the consumer at the center of its efforts. We applaud Oscar's strong performance in New York and its recent entrance into New Jersey. We look forward to partnering with this tech-savvy payer as it continues to focus on empowering its growing provider network with NaviNet Open and game-changing Value-Based network applications like Clinical Document Exchange."
NaviNet Open provides the extensibility, flexibility, and scalability necessary to accommodate change and promote growth as health plans launch new businesses and products. In addition to the base platform, NaviNet Open offers core applications, Value-Based Network applications, configuration and administrative tools, and open APIs for easy connectivity, integration, and application development. These capabilities were designed based on the best practices of the NaviNet multi-payer portal, making NaviNet Open the most advanced network technology platform in healthcare today.
