Statement from Minister Steven Blaney on the Induction of CBSA Officer Trainees


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Dec. 19, 2014) - Canada Border Services Agency

The Honourable Steven Blaney, Canada's Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, today issued the following statement to congratulate trainees of the Officer Induction Training Program (OITP) at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) College in Rigaud, Quebec:

"Our government is keeping Canada's borders safe and secure while strengthening its economy through the efficient flow of legitimate trade and travel. The training provided to our frontline officers is integral to the security and economic growth of our communities.

We are proud of the significant investment we have made in the CBSA College. This state-of-the-art facility provides exceptional training in managing the border in today's complex world while ensuring service excellence.
