THOUSAND OAKS, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 22, 2014) - Xirrus, the leading provider of high-performance wireless networks, today announced the appointment of Ian Bayly as vice president worldwide channels and strategic alliances. Bayly brings more than 17 years of experience operating highly effective sales and partner management strategies in the wireless industry. Bayly will lead expansion of Xirrus' channel program and go-to-market strategy, providing strategic counsel to the sales and channel teams to increase distribution of Xirrus' Cloud Managed Wi-Fi solutions globally.
"Our business has demonstrated significant growth in the last year, and keeping up with that growth requires a dedicated executive to manage our fast expanding global channel. Ian's extensive experience in wireless and his knowledge of the global VAR channel, distribution and service provider markets make him the ideal candidate for this newly created role," said Shane Buckley, CEO of Xirrus. "His background and the insight he will provide to strengthen our channel programs will be instrumental as we continue to expand our partner footprint around the globe, and prepare Xirrus for the next phase of our growth."
Ian Bayly brings more than 17 years of management experience in wireless channel resellers across international markets to Xirrus. Most recently, Ian was global vice president of OEMs and strategic alliances at Cambium Networks where he led strategy and management for systems integrators and OEM relationships throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe. Prior to this, Ian was Cambium Networks' founding EMEA vice president of sales and marketing, leading the transition of 700 channel partners to Cambium's newly formed connected partner program. In this role, he also revitalized and doubled the channel sales teams, implementing a channel expansion program across seven verticals resulting in year-over-year double-digit growth between 2011 and 2013. Before Cambium Networks, Ian was a member of a small executive team at Motorola that led the acquisition strategy of Motorola's wireless broadband division to PE Company Vector Capital, which created Cambium Networks in 2011. Ian was also European sales director for wireless network solutions at Motorola where he grew wireless LAN business incrementally quarter-over-quarter for five consecutive years between 2010 and 2015. He holds a degree from West London University.
"The Xirrus portfolio and channel proposition offer a significant opportunity for partners who are looking for truly differentiated technology solutions and want to build a long lasting business partnership," said Ian Bayly, vice president of worldwide channels and strategic alliances of Xirrus. "Customers are quickly discovering how Xirrus Wi-Fi networks outperform other solutions and are now looking for trusted local resources to design, install and upgrade their Wi-Fi.
