Gesture Control Device onecue Changes Name to singlecue

Developed by eyeSight Technologies, singlecue Connects and Controls Home Entertainment and Smart Home Devices, Including Nest and Apple TV, With Simple, Touch-Free Gestures

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- onecue, the standalone device that connects and controls all media and smart home devices with gestures, has been renamed to singlecue. Developed by eyeSight, a leader in machine vision and gesture recognition solutions, onecue has changed its name in response to a request from a major telecom provider.

"A strong November launch and the global media coverage that resulted brought tremendous attention to the product and ultimately resulted in the request for a name change," said Gideon Shmuel, CEO, eyeSight. "We agreed to the change because we see cable operators as a key go-to-market strategy for singlecue."

singlecue launched under the onecue name in November 2014 and was named a "Coolest Gadget of 2014" by CNN Money. As a standalone unit, singlecue can be mounted to a TV or placed on a nearby shelf to wirelessly connect and control countless devices, including: televisions, satellite and cable boxes, DVD and Blu-ray players, stereo receivers and selected smart home devices. It is currently compatible with Apple TV, Nest Learning Thermostat, Philips Hue and many more to come. When paired with the accompanying repeater, singlecue can also control devices hidden inside cabinets or located in adjacent rooms, further eliminating excess cords and clutter.

"Since launching, we've heard from people around the globe that they can't wait for singlecue to enter their homes and completely change the way they interact with their favorite devices" Shmuel said. "We look forward to fulfilling this promise and bringing gesture recognition, the Internet of Things and smart home control to everyone under the singlecue brand."

All of singlecue's features, functionalities and technical specifications will remain the same under its new name, and the product will remain a part of eyeSight Technologies. The device will continue to be available for pre-order at an exclusive introductory price of $129, discounted from the projected retail price of $199.

eyeSight will debut singlecue to media at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) from Jan. 6-8, 2015 in Las Vegas, where attendees will get a first look at the device in action.
