Los Angeles, Jan. 15, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Petersen Museum proudly announces the appointment of David Brynan to the Executive Committee of its premier membership group, the Checkered Flag 200. Brynan has a long history with The Petersen, including the completion of a college internship at the museum. He now works as a Specialist at Gooding & Company, overseeing the consignment, research and appraisal of some of the finest automobiles in the world.
"It is a tremendous honor to have been appointed to the Checkered Flag 200 Executive Committee," Brynan said. "Having been involved with the Petersen Automotive Museum for many years, in many different capacities, I am absolutely thrilled to be part of this team and have the opportunity to work directly with my fellow Checkered Flag 200 members in this new role."
David Brynan joined the Checkered Flag 200 as a way to further his support of The Petersen and to take advantage of membership benefits. These benefits include special events at the museum, tours of some of the best private garages and collections in the world, exclusive runs and rallies, plus the opportunity to hang out with like-minded automotive enthusiasts.
Brynan has always had a great love for cars, one that was fueled by countless trips to The Petersen as a child. He and his father (who is also a Checkered Flag 200 member) now have an impressive collection of vehicles, including an Alfa Romeo Sprint Zagato, a Ferrari Daytona, 1967 and 1973 Porsche 911s, and a 1957 Speedster. The Brynans also help produce the annual Greystone Mansion Concours d'Elegance in Beverly Hills. David Brynan participates in many other drives, classic road rally events, and concours.
Petersen Automotive Museum Vice Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Checkered Flag 200's Executive Committee, Bruce Meyer, enthusiastically supported David Brynan for the Checkered Flag 200 appointment. The two met many years ago, and Meyer has been a huge fan ever since. In 2007, Meyer helped Brynan secure a college internship at The Petersen. After graduating from Pomona College, Brynan was able to convert his hobby into his job after Meyer introduced him to fellow Checkered Flag 200 member David Gooding, President of Gooding & Company.
"Having such a bright, capable and youthful member on our board guarantees that our future is in the best of hands," Bruce Meyer said.
The Checkered Flag 200, founded by Bruce Meyer, is the elite membership group of the Petersen Automotive Museum and was created to celebrate and preserve automotive history, design and engineering. The original membership goal was 200, a number that was quickly met and has been greatly exceeded. Current Checkered Flag membership is approximately 500 and includes numerous automotive legends, including Dan Gurney and Parnelli Jones.
