TORONTO, Jan. 21, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CFA Society Toronto commends the achievements of over 200 new charterholders who celebrated this tremendous milestone at the Annual CFA Charter Recognition in Toronto on January 20, 2015.
To earn the CFA charter, candidates must sequentially pass three six-hour exams and accumulate 48 months of approved work experience. On average candidates study for over 300 hours per level of the exam with 54% of global candidates successfully completing the Level III exam in June 2014. CFA Institute has administered well over one million exams since the inauguration of the CFA program in 1963.
"The unwavering dedication required by those who attain their CFA charter shows a commitment to ethics and integrity within the financial community. We applaud over 600 Toronto area Chartered Financial Analysts on successfully completing the rigorous journey from candidate to charterholder. We look forward to supporting the continued professional growth of these new leaders, who represent the Future of Finance both locally and globally." said, Sue Lemon, CFA, CEO and Board of Director, CFA Society Toronto.
This past June more than 5,000 candidates sat for the CFA exam in the Toronto test centre. In 2014, 11,268 charters were awarded globally with 1,165 new charters awarded in Canada.
