During the course of the year, Kinepolis Group will be building a cinema in Breda with 10 screens and 1,727 seats. Kinepolis Breda will be part of Evenementenzone Breda (Breda Events Zone), inaugurated today by property developer MaVer.
In addition to the Kinepolis cinema, a.o. there is also an events hall and a Decathlon branch. Evenementenzone Breda is located to the east of Breda on the A27. Various recreational functions that reinforce one another are coming to the area. Once up to speed, Kinepolis expects approximately 450,000 visitors a year.
Kinepolis entered the market in the Netherlands for the first time in 2014 through the acquisition of Wolff Bioscopen (9 multiplexes, cinema projects in Dordrecht and Utrecht). Kinepolis Breda, fully owned by Kinepolis, becomes the third building project in the Netherlands.
Kinepolis aims to expand its position further and in this context is evaluating additional projects to fit into the Kinepolis expansion strategy. It wants to introduce its concept in new markets and to new target groups, thus helping to create further value for all its stakeholders. Earlier this month, Kinepolis announced building plans in Bretigny (Paris).
