Attorney Chris McDowell's practice focuses on criminal and commercial-related litigation as well as real estate transactions. This work includes all levels and all stages of criminal and civil proceedings. In addition, Chris is heavily involved with commercial landlord tenant law from leasing to evictions.
He has more than 20 years of experience counseling clients across a broad-range of legal issues from commercial disputes to employee theft and loss. He advises, defends and represents individuals and corporations under investigation by federal and state regulatory agencies and has taught criminal law and criminal procedure for both the University of Maryland and Central Texas College. Chris has successfully represented criminal defendants all over the world in matters ranging from murder, espionage and bank robbery to traffic violations.
Chris is licensed to practice law in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia and in the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. Military Court of Appeals and U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Ohio, Northern District of Ohio, Eastern District of Kentucky and the Southern District of West Virginia.
He is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association, the Board of Trustees for River City Correctional Institution and the Hamilton County Selective Service Board. Chris is the Republican Ward Chairman for the 5th Ward, City of Cincinnati, and he is a member of the Hamilton County Republican Party's executive and judicial selection committees. He also serves as treasurer of the Troop Committee for the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 170.
Chris earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the West Virginia University College of Law and his bachelor's degree from Marshall University.
