HIGHLAND PARK, IL--(Marketwired - Jan 28, 2015) - Entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis announced today that he is bringing his new fast casual restaurant concept, The Simple Greek, to the North Shore Illinois community of Highland Park, slated to open in the next few months with plans to serve authentic Greek flavors for lunch and dinner daily. The new eatery will offer fresh and healthy Mediterranean cuisine and will open at 478 Central Avenue in spring 2015; joining the other franchises currently located in Pennsylvania.
"Coming from a Greek family, I am particularly excited to bring this dining experience to the wonderful community of Highland Park and give our customers reasonable prices and convenient access to great food," said Lemonis. "We are very excited to be growing The Simple Greek into new areas in the United States and look forward to sharing our delicious and healthy food with Illinois residents."
Lemonis' relationship with the restaurant began when the My Big Fat Greek Gyro Pittsburgh chain was featured on his hit CNBC reality series, The Profit, where Lemonis turns around struggling businesses and buys an ownership stake in the companies. On the December 9th episode, which can be viewed on the CNBC website http://www.cnbc.com/live-tv/the-profit/full-episode/my-big-fat-greek-gyro/369140291506 or by visiting YouTube and entering The Profit Simple Greek, Lemonis partnered with founders Michael Ference and Kathleen Kamouyerou-Ference, who fulfilled their dream of opening a Greek restaurant 10 years ago when they opened the McMurray, PA location.
As a result of the new partnership, the owners became more hands-on with their franchises and together they rebranded the chain as The Simple Greek, with an open assembly line model for gyros, salads and plentiful sides. All current locations also underwent extensive renovations to refresh the storefronts and develop a new friendly and modernized sit down eating area for customers.
"You'll know you've come to the right place to enjoy delicious Mediterranean cuisine the moment after you enter our door and experience the scents of our fresh herbs and spices," says Kamouyerou-Ference, founder. "We are actively reviewing franchise applications, identifying growth opportunities and seeking out future markets for expansion."
The Simple Greek currently has franchises throughout the Pittsburgh area. For more information on The Simple Greek, or if you are interested in franchising, please visit www.thesimplegreek.com.
