JOHNSTOWN, Pa., Feb. 5, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dr. Vicki A. Barbur, Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC), will speak at the 2015 Annual North American CIO Event in San Francisco on February 18, 2015. At this event, more than 100 CIOs from multinational enterprises will champion think tanks, panel discussions and workshops, creating a dynamic mix of thought leadership and best practice strategies.

Dr. Barbur's presentation, "Cloud Computing: what it heralds for the emerging technology platforms in the business world," will outline emerging trends in cloud computing and other platforms that challenge long-held assumptions and that are poised to reposition our future landscapes.  Barbur will serve as the closing keynote speaker on the second day of the two-day event.

Dr. Barbur, who joined CTC in January, 2013, earned a Ph.D. in physics from Imperial College, University of London, and a M.Sc. in applied statistics from the University of Oxford, both in the UK; and a B.Sc. in physics also from Imperial College, University of London.  Dr. Barbur holds three U.S. patents and one European patent.
