PLACERVILLE, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 12, 2015) - The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians recently elected its 2015 Tribal Council. Four of the seven Tribal Council seats were up for election. Re-elected were Nicholas H. Fonseca, Hermo Olanio and Regina Cuellar. Bernie Gonzales was newly elected. The three other Tribal Council members are Allan Campbell, Veronica Holmes and Malissa Tayaba.
The Tribal Council then re-elected Nicholas H. Fonseca to a three-year term as chairman. This marks Fonseca's 16th year on the Tribal Council and 15th year as Chairman. "I am proud to serve my Tribe and honored to be chairman." Most notably during Chairman Fonseca's tenure, the Tribe opened its Red Hawk Casino in 2008.
