America Faces Multiple Threats - Are We Prepared?

The United States today faces what is probably the most diverse and unpredictable array of threats to its national security than at any previous time in history. This environment, combined with an extremely constrained national security budget, is challenging force readiness now and for the foreseeable future. While the Pentagon seeks ways to make hard decisions that mitigate adverse consequences, acquisition programs will inevitably compete with readiness dollars.
The 25 February Readiness Summit, to be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, will engage panels of top experts in a series of discussions on how best to preserve readiness while simultaneously identifying innovative and cost effective solutions to growing readiness gaps.
The keynote speaker at the Summit will be the Honorable Rob Wittman, Chair, Readiness Subcommittee, House Armed Services Committee and a member of the Congressional Modeling and Simulation Caucus.
