TROY, Mich., Feb. 23, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Salinas, California is working with New World Systems® to gain efficiencies and provide better services to residents.
The city of Salinas recently licensed New World Systems Logos.NET™ Public Administration Suite, including:
- Financial Management
- Payroll & Human Resources
- Community Development
- eSuite Self-Service
- Decision Support
This software replaces a 30-year-old homegrown system that no longer meets the city's needs, according to the Finance Director for the city of Salinas, Matt Pressey. With New World, the city will be able to increase and automate its workflow for initiating, approving, and executing requisitions for purchase orders, staffing requests, budget adjustments, invoices, and timesheets.
These changes benefit the city by eliminating paper processes, providing better services to residents, and increasing government transparency.
Pressey said the city's decision to go with New World was based on 15 site visits to neighboring communities already using Logos.NET and positive feedback received from those municipalities. The decision was further supported by the fact that New World is employee-owned, has more than 30 years of public sector experience, spends millions of dollars on research and development, and is pro-active in customer relations, according to Pressey.
"The customers we spoke to are happy because New World's products work the way the customers want them to work," Pressey said. "That's the key."
Salinas has a population of more than 155,000 and is the county seat for Monterey County, which is known as the Salad Bowl of the World.
