PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwired - Feb 26, 2015) - Alteva (
Focus Pointe Global was having issues with their incumbent carrier, which had supplied them with both a WAN network and a VoIP phone system. In order to leave, they needed both technologies replaced. Focus Pointe Global was frustrated with a lack of communications, difficulty making changes to their phone equipment and an unreliable network.
"Working with reliable, best-in-class vendors was a huge relief over our past experiences," said Robert Stephens, Chief Information Officer, Focus Pointe Global. "Both Alteva and Level 3 bring a level of professionalism and reliability that we had been missing."
After many discussions, it was determined that simply delivering dedicated Internet circuits (DIA) to every site was the most cost effective solution for their needs. This was possible because of the existing relationship between Alteva and Level 3. Alteva uses Level 3 for their cloud and SIP services, which meant a lower latency in the traffic flow of the VOIP calls -- essentially fewer hops to get to the cloud eliminating the need for additional QOS or MPLS services.
With these cost savings, it was possible for Level 3 to build fiber into three sites to further increase reliability and made it possible for Alteva to win the business over some other competitors, who were cheaper, but did not offer unified communications capabilities or the same level of reliability.
"Working with Alteva, we delivered a solution that supplied Focus Pointe Global with a true, hosted UC solution and simplified their network management, enabling all sites with scalability and efficiency for future growth," said Harris Von Essen, account director, Northeast Enterprise Sales, Level 3.
"We continue to see the value in this strategic partnership," said Bill Birnie, CMO, Alteva. "Together with Level 3, we were able to transform a customers' business communications system, give them significant cost savings and ensure their ability to grow. It's a win-win for everyone."
