Daniel Lavalle Credits Work With Dad to Build Successful Dryer Vent Wizard Business

CHARLOTTE, NC--(Marketwired - Mar 9, 2015) - Growing up in a large family, Daniel Lavalle, the oldest son of 10 children, picked up the hard work and entrepreneurial spirit of his dad, Dave Lavalle, at an early age. The Lavalles moved their family and business, Dryer Vent Wizard, from Boston to North Carolina almost 10 years ago.

According to Dave Lavalle, his son's mechanical skills and strong work ethic became a real help to growing the business in Charlotte and surrounding suburbs. Dryer Vent Wizard (DVW) specializes in dryer vent repair, replacement, cleaning and maintenance of dryers for residential and commercial clients.

After several years of helping his dad, Daniel Lavalle decided last year it was time to launch his own DVW business to service Union County in North Carolina, along with Lancaster and York counties in South Carolina.

Daniel Lavalle's work experience with his dad also helped him understand problems facing residential and commercial clients. It is very easy for dryers to catch fire if they are not properly installed, cleaned and maintained.

"With the growth of new homes in the area, many have laundry rooms that are conveniently located for homeowners," said Daniel Lavalle. "However, it means the vent lines are longer and require more diligent maintenance."

Lavalle also noted that several hail storms in the area have created problems when non-local contractors put on new roofs and install the wrong vent caps that do not allow for proper airflow. 

"A lot of my time is spent educating people about dryers to ensure fire safety and energy savings," added Lavalle, who receives business referrals from appliance repair stores, other customers, friends and family.

Aside from taking care of his three dogs, the younger Lavalle admits that cleaning and replacing customers' dryer vents keeps him busy from dawn to dusk.

"Whatever the problem, he never says 'no' to a customer," added Dave Lavalle, who is not surprised by his son's success.
