LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - March 30, 2015) - The Hollywood outcry from women who are producers or directors at major studios, even casting agents, from top agencies like CSA or William Morris, are complaining they don't receive the same success as their male counterparts. That's been the buzz of Hollywood for years. Some story tellers are suggesting it's the content of the production, and that true story adventure films featuring a strong female lead could turn the tide.
Allyn Mark, President of Industry Visions Pictures, is suggesting a new trend with the greatest women's hero story ever told. "Aeroplane Angel" is based on the true story of Harriet Quimby, America's first licensed female pilot. The story begins on the Michigan frontier in the 1880s and follows her life to California where she becomes a silent screen actress for DW Griffith. At the pinnacle of her career in 1911, she becomes America's sweetheart aviator as the first woman to secure a pilot's license. Driven by an obsession for stardom and extraordinary courage, she flies a 50 horse power monoplane across the English Channel. Tragically, recognition for her amazing feat is eclipsed by the sinking of the Titanic two days before. Undaunted, she returns to Boston three months later, where she is thrown to her death before 5,000 horrified spectators at an air exhibition.
