MADISON, WI--(Marketwired - March 31, 2015) - Precision Nutrition, the largest private nutrition coaching and research company in the world, has selected the Widen Media Collective for its digital asset management (DAM) needs. Precision Nutrition has helped over 30,000 people lose over 300,000 pounds of body fat and lead healthier lives. They will use Widen's DAM solution to make their asset library accessible by all of their remote employees.
Precision Nutrition is a company comprised of remote-based employees scattered across North America and Europe. As the company grew, communication amongst employees and the ability to find and send files became increasingly challenging. Often times the marketing team felt the pain of having to email five people in order to find a file. They also tried using other popular file sharing and project management systems, but ran into limitations as these systems were tied to individual accounts, making large scale searching and sharing more difficult.
"We realized the need for a better system to manage the assets that we had out there," stated Ruby Giulioni, project manager at Precision Nutrition. "We needed a way for them to be universally accessible."
Precision Nutrition began their search by interviewing internal asset creators and users on desired functionality in a system. They compiled the lists and prioritized functions as "need to have" and "nice to have." They scheduled demonstrations with a number of vendors.
Ultimately, Precision Nutrition chose the Widen Media Collective because it met all of their "need to have" functionality, nearly all of their "nice to have" functionality, and a number of additional features not originally on their list. The Media Collective proved its ability to speed up the process of file sharing, and provide the contextual information staff needs to be able to search and repurpose assets.
"In the end, there were 3 vendors that could meet our needs," stated Giulioni. "We went with Widen because we had the best customer experience through the demonstration and Q&A process."
The new DAM system will provide easy access to photography, PDF documents, and video files to Precision Nutrition's creative teams, including graphic designers, web designers, marketers, photographers and videographers. Over 20,000 fitness and nutrition professionals have turned to Precision Nutrition for help in becoming elite coaches. The DAM system may also be used to host resources like videos, forms, and guides provided to the coaches within their nutrition coaching program.
"Widen is excited to have the Media Collective solution as that central hub for Precision Nutrition's assets," said Craig Bollig, senior digital asset management advisor. "The brand's mission to improve the wellness of more than 1 million men and women means that Widen also has a stake in that goal. That's something we're proud our solution will be a part of."
