Burlingame, CA, March 31, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MotionDSP, a leading provider of image processing and computer vision software for Full-Motion Video (FMV) and activity based intelligence (ABI), today announced its plans to exhibit and host a training and education session at this year's GEOINT Symposium. MotionDSP will help geospatial analysts understand how to augment their workflow by incorporating FMV and FMV-derived products into their own analysis and production. MotionDSP will discuss the fundamentals of FMV and the fusion of FMV and geospatial data in order to create a clearer picture.
"In the age of software automation, combined with new ways to capture video providing ways to collect video that we once thought unfeasible, we have developed software to augment manual video data analysis," said Sean Varah, founder and CEO of MotionDSP. "We look forward to GEOINT this year to discuss what lies ahead in both FMV and geospatial realms. The combination of FMV and geospatial data can help analysts create a more complete picture of a battle space and provide greater context to their commanders, and our software can help improve their critical work."
The annual Symposium will be held in Washington DC, June 22-25 at the Washington Convention Center. The Symposium is hosted and produced by the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF), a non-profit non-lobbying educational organization; the annual GEOINT Symposium is the nation's largest gathering of intelligence professionals and the preeminent intelligence event of the year.
MotionDSP's training and education session, titled "New Techniques in Full Motion Video (FMV) Analysis," will take place at GEOINT on Tuesday, June 23, from 7- 9 am and again from 2-4 pm.
The training session will focus on the fusion of FMV and geospatial data in specific, real-world case studies. MotionDSP will demonstrate geospatial tools able to correct poor and/or missing metadata, developing activity-based intelligence, and create up-to-date basemaps via on-the-fly geomosaics. MotionDSP will also discuss the future of FMV and geospatial intelligence, delving briefly into analytics, LiDAR, and wide area motion imagery (WAMI).
