CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - April 1, 2015) - Sadly, 1 in 5 households struggle to provide clean diapers for their children. The Bare Bottoms Diaper Drive, in support of the Calgary Food Bank, helps fill a critical need for diapers among the most vulnerable in our community.
When families are struggling financially, they quite often have to make tough decisions and cut back on essentials like food and medicine in order to afford diapers for their children. A year's worth of diapers can cost up to $850, making this an expense that many cannot afford.
The Calgary Bare Bottoms Diaper Drive was launched in 2013 to raise awareness of this need and solicit diaper donations. Since its inception, more than 100,000 diapers have been collected and last year the Calgary Food Bank was able to provide up to 4 days worth of diapers in 10,000 hampers.
Visit www.calgaryfoodbank.com for more information on where to drop-off new and opened diaper packages throughout the month of April and May.
