SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS--(Marketwired - April 7, 2015) - AssetWorks, a leader in intelligent workplace management, today announced that the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) has selected AiM to serve as the institution's new Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS). Initially, Caltech is expected to leverage AiM for Space Management and Operations and Maintenance Management. The second phase of implementation is expected to see the addition of AiM Energy Management, GIS, Key and Access Control and AiM's COBie component. It is anticipated that AiM will touch several institutional departments at Caltech, helping over 350 maintenance and operations personnel deliver facilities services and maintenance to 70 main campus buildings comprising 4.2 million gross square feet, including 546,000 gross square feet of residential facilities.
Originally founded in 1891, Caltech is a private research university in Pasadena, California, focused on science and engineering. The 125-acre campus is home to 300 tenured faculty, 977 undergraduates, and 1,200 graduate students. The achievements of Caltech faculty, students, and alumni have been recognized with national and international honors including Nobel prizes, National Medals of Science and Technology, and membership in the National Academies. The Institute is home to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the Caltech Seismological Laboratory and a network of astronomical observatories. Caltech was #1 in the UK's Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2013-2014.
"We're immensely privileged to be entrusted to provide Caltech with a campus-wide IWMS solution," said Tony DeSilvester, Vice President and General Manager, AssetWorks. "Caltech represents leadership worldwide in research and innovation, profoundly shaping the aerospace, electronics, telecommunications, information technology and biotechnology industries. We're proud to help play a role in preserving Caltech's extensive investments in research facilities, classrooms, office space, recreational facilities and student housing for both current and future generations of students and researchers."
