Elsevier Announces Four New Geoscience Book Titles, Including New Editions of The Encyclopedia of Volcanoes and Treatise on Geophysics

WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwired - April 15, 2015) - Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced the publication of the latest edition of The Encyclopedia of Volcanoes, edited by Haraldur Sigurdsson, Bruce Houghton, Steve McNutt, Hazel Rymer and John Stix. It is the only comprehensive reference work covering all aspects of volcanology. Elsevier also announced that the second edition of the Treatise on Geophysics, edited by Gerald Schubert, will be forthcoming in May/June (EMEA/US). Dr. Sigurdsson, Editor-in-Chief of The Encyclopedia of Volcanoes, is a renowned volcanologist and geochemist and was recently able to predict the end of the eruption of Bardarbunga in Iceland from data collected during the eruption.
