WOODRIDGE, Ill., April 15, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Navitas Systems LLC (www.navitassys.com), a leading provider of energy-enabled system solutions, energy storage products, and power electronics for commercial, industrial and government/military customers, has expanded its manufacturing and engineering organizations by hiring a new Vice President of Manufacturing, Director of Engineering, and Global Supply Chain Manager.
As Navitas continues to grow its portfolio of product offerings, its manufacturing and engineering operations require new levels of leadership and experience. All three hires bring deep experience in establishing and operating manufacturing and engineering operations in both the electronics and the battery industries.
States Mead will serve as Vice President of Manufacturing, effective immediately. Mead possesses over 18 years of Lean Manufacturing and management experience with global oversight, including Six Sigma and Lean Silver Certifications. Mead will be responsible for overall production, quality, engineering, warehouse, and equipment.

Prior to joining Navitas, Mead served many mission critical roles at The Morey Corporation, including Manufacturing Engineering Manager as well as Maintenance and Facilities Managers. He had oversight, and was responsible, for the overall capital equipment, facility growth and expansion projects. He also served in senior positions at both Panasonic Factory Solutions Company of North America and Tyco Electronics, where his primary role was as a Business Unit Leader and Manufacturing Manager for U.S. operations while supporting Mexico, China, and Brazil facilities.
Chad Hartzog joins Navitas as Director of Engineering after a 10 year stint at Enerdel where he served as Senior Manager, Systems Engineering. At Enerdel, Hartzog was instrumental to their engineering growth and had a specific focus on Battery Management Systems and Grid Energy Storage. He was responsible for all system integration and product design and served as the direct customer interface for all phases of design and requirement definition through deployment, installation and commissioning. Hartzog will lead the Navitas Engineering team, overseeing both battery hardware and software development.
Paul Corby joins Navitas as Global Supply Chain Manager, where he oversees all procurement, fulfillment and supply chain logistics. Corby has an impressive background, having served as Executive Director of Global Materials and Logistics at Stant USA Corporation as well as Global Director of Supply Chain and Purchasing at the battery company Dow Kokam. He has led supply chain activities for over eight manufacturing sites in five countries and identified, developed, negotiated with, and sourced complete supply bases in Asia and Europe to support energy sector operations.
