Novatel Wireless Appoints New General Counsel, Lance Bridges

Strategic Addition to Team Supports Company's Bullish Growth Objectives

SAN DIEGO, May 8, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Novatel Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq:MIFI), a leading provider of intelligent wireless solutions that simplify the Internet of Things (IoT), announced the appointment of Lance Bridges to the position of senior vice president, general counsel, effective May 7, 2015. As senior vice president, general counsel, Mr. Bridges will lead the global legal function across the company and its subsidiaries.

Mr. Bridges brings over 25 years of experience in general business and corporate law matters, with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and financing transactions. Mr. Bridges joins Novatel Wireless from Entropic Communications (Nasdaq:ENTR) (NYSE:MXL), a leading provider of semiconductor solutions for the connected home, where he served as senior vice president and general counsel from 2007 to 2015, overseeing the company's M&A activities, international legal affairs and strategic intellectual property organizations. Prior to joining Entropic, Mr. Bridges was a Partner at Cooley LLP, serving as outside general counsel to venture backed private companies and publicly traded companies across multiple industries.

Mr. Bridges received his juris doctor from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). Additionally, Mr. Bridges earned a master of business administration degree concentrating in finance and strategic planning from The Walter A. Haas School of Business Administration, University of California at Berkeley. The Financial Times profiled Mr. Bridges for developing one of the 25 most innovative in-house legal teams in North America in December 2014 and he is professionally recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America and California by leading publications. He is a member of the State Bar of California and Business Law section of the American Bar Association.

This is the second strategic addition to the Novatel Wireless management team in three weeks, following the recent announced addition of John Carney, former Google executive, as senior vice president of sales and marketing. Mashinsky added, "Our team is making significant accomplishments in a short amount of time.
