MENLO PARK, Calif., May 19, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Marble Security today named Troy Mobility, a solution provider specializing in mobility consulting, professional services and value added relationships, as a certified U.S. value added reseller (VAR) of its AppHawk mobile threat intelligence platform and defense solution. Troy Mobility will resell and implement the service for enterprises supporting bring-your-own-device (BYOD) and corporate-owned, personally-enabled (COPE) mobile devices.
Enterprises face a greater threat from the millions of apps their employees casually use each day than from mobile malware. According to Gartner, through 2017, 75 percent of mobile security breaches will occur through apps rather than deep technical attacks on the OS1. Called 'riskware,' these seemingly harmless apps expose enterprise users to data leakage, credential theft and the exfiltration of private information used to target employees in precise, advanced attacks.
Marble Security's AppHawk service provides enterprises with comprehensive visibility into and protection against these malicious and privacy-leaking iOS and Android apps. AppHawk is powered by Marble Security's app analysis engine and database of more than 3.5 million analyzed apps from 500,000 publishers. Each app is scored against more than 1,000 potentially malicious and privacy-leaking behaviors to determine whether it is risky or safe. AppHawk complements and is integrated with leading mobile device management (MDM) and enterprise mobility management (EMM) solutions, providing an essential element of enterprise mobile security.
"Troy Mobility is excited to represent Marble Security as a value added reseller in the U.S. market," said Paul Troisi, Troy Mobility's chief customer officer. "We have broad experience with mobility solutions, especially in the area of enterprise mobility management. Based on our extensive mobility expertise, we believe there is high demand and great value for Marble's AppHawk threat intelligence solution. Without Marble's app threat intelligence, enterprises are flying blind with their mobile apps. Remediating devices running dangerous apps in the enterprise environment strengthens a company's security posture."
Troy Mobility's know-how spans the entire mobile ecosystem spectrum. Since beginning as simply an MDM reseller, the Peabody, Massachusetts-based company has extended its mobile reach to include managed mobility services, EMM platforms, comprehensive lifecycle management solutions and a strategic mobility consulting group to advise its customers about trends, technologies and application development.
"We look forward to having Troy Mobility represent Marble as a U.S. reseller. The company has great experience reselling, implementing and supporting multiple EMM platforms today," said Steve Ryan, SVP, business development, at Marble Security. "Marble will leverage Troy Mobility as a VAR as well as a professional services organization that can provide training and integration services for Marble's AppHawk threat intelligence solution. We are excited to work with Paul and the Troy Mobility team."
In additional efforts to grow its partner program worldwide, Marble recently announced another U.S. VAR and two value added distributors (VADs) in the U.K. and Australia/New Zealand.
