SEATTLE, May 26, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Health and Fitness Expo — Sensoria, Inc., a leading developer of IoE (Internet of Everyone) wearable solutions, today announces a partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs of King County to host a clothing drive for disadvantaged youth at the Rock'n'Roll Seattle Marathon and Health and Fitness Expo on June 11th-12th.
Runners will be able to take advantage of a Free Running Form Assessment provided by Sensoria's kinesiologist. The evaluation will provide them with information about foot landing tendencies, cadence, pace and how different shoes may affect performance and running form.
To support this clothing drive, runners participating in the Rock'n'Roll Seattle Marathon can bring new clothing items for sport and fitness activities to Sensoria's booth (#432) at the Health and Fitness Expo taking place on June 11 and 12 in Seattle. Garments must be new, unworn and bearing the original tags and labels.
In return, the first 10 individuals making donations will receive two brand new pairs of the Sensoria award-winning smart socks with the Sensoria electronic anklet, a $199 value. In addition, the following 100 individuals making donations will receive a new pair of Sensoria Fitness smart socks. All other donors will receive a discount of $30 on the Sensoria Fitness Socks bundle (MSRP $199).
The socks are infused with Sensoria's proprietary, soft textile pressure sensors and paired with the Sensoria Bluetooth anklet to help runners improve not only how far and how fast, but how well they run.
"As a King County based start-up Sensoria has received a lot of input from the local running community. We believe in giving back, especially to kids and families that need it the most" says Sensoria Marketing Manager Paolo Sciarra. "We have been honored to support the Boys & Girls Clubs, Redmond branch, during the past two years by providing contributions to the Sammamish Fun Run. Today we have a great opportunity to help a larger number of kids. We are confident that our vibrant running community will enthusiastically support our initiative".
People wearing the smart socks will have a chance to learn more about their running form at the Sensoria booth. The free clinic will include an evaluation of foot landing, cadence, and foot contact time on the ground.
"Sensoria Fitness has gone above and beyond to help support the needs of our Boys & Girls Club's members and families by offering runners at the Seattle Rock'N'Roll Marathon to swap clothes for Sensoria's new smart socks. The clothes will go to families in need around the King County area Clubs" says Zach Wenman, Club Director of Boys & Girls Clubs of King County.
People interested in participating in the free clinic and donating new sports apparel should drop it off on June 11th and 12th at the Sensoria booth number 432 at the Health and Fitness Expo of the Rock'n'Roll Seattle marathon.
