ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwired - May 27, 2015) - First GREEN Bank, a local bank with a global mission, today announces its partnership with Clean the World, an organization dedicated to saving lives through reviving recycled soap and other discarded hygiene products. By partnering with Clean the World, First GREEN Bank will help the organization continue to spread its mission throughout Central Florida and globally. The partnership will bring awareness to the health issues facing communities around the world and ways Central Floridians can help.
The partnership was a natural fit for First GREEN Bank, an organization that values doing what's right for people and the environment while operating a financially successful business. Clean the World is an Orlando-based non-profit which aims to prevent disease by providing recycled soap to people in need around the world. Since opening in 2009, the organization has donated over 25 million bars of its soap to 99 countries. This partnership comes at an important time as the bank will assist Clean the World in its efforts to help the people of Nepal following the recent tragic earthquakes.
"We are very thankful that First GREEN Bank believes in our organization and has decided to help us grab the attention of Central Floridians," said Shawn Seipler, CEO and Founder of Clean the World. "With the help of the bank, we are able to send employees to Nepal to hand out soap and hygiene kits to 5,000 families that have been displaced by the earthquake. We are working together to provide victims with the resources they need to stay clean and healthy -- they need it now more than ever."
In addition to helping Clean the World with its efforts in Nepal, First GREEN Bank has also helped victims through its participation in the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV). With the help of First GREEN Bank and the GABV, several local communities in Nepal, including Gorkha, Sitpaila and Sindhupalchowk, will receive the support needed to restore academic and health institutions.
"When the earthquake struck Nepal it hit very close to home for us as one of our fellow GABV members, The Clean Energy Development Bank, is located in the country," said Ken LaRoe, CEO and Founder of First GREEN Bank. "We knew we had to step in and help in every way we could. Our hearts go out to all of those affected and we're proud to be associated with such wonderful organizations such as Clean the World and the GABV in their efforts to help the Nepalese people."
