Scanship Holding ASA : New Contract for Advanced Wastewater Purification


Lysaker, 1 June 2015: Scanship Holding ASA has, through its subsidiary Scanship AS, been awarded a contract for delivery of Advanced Wastewater Purification system on a cruise vessel to be built in Italy for one of the largest ship-owner in the Cruise industry. The main delivery of equipment will take place in the third Quarter of 2015. The vessel will enter into service spring 2018. The yard and ship-owner will be disclosed at a later stage.
 
"This is yet another evidence that the big cruise liners such as NCL, Carnival Cruise Line and RCCL is committing to build cruise vessels with wastewater technology from Scanship meeting MEPC 227(64) standard with nutrient removal, years before the IMO Marpol is said to enforce", says CEO Henrik Badin.

The Scanship's Advanced Wastewater Purification (AWP) system treats all wastewater streams on a vessel in compliance with the strictest environmental regulations. The system is type approved for IMO MARPOL MEPC 227(64), currently the only available system in the marked for this size of vessels.
