With other sponsors British Council-IELTS, MEDISYS, IDP-IELTS, IEP Bridging Program at York University and CPA Ontario, the innovative event will feature a tradeshow of exhibitors including immigrant service providers, educational institutes, recruitment agencies,, employers looking to hire, plus job-finding and management portals.
Thousands of immigrants arrive in Toronto every year with dreams of a new life and successful careers. However, many experience culture shock as they start to settle in, and need information on everything from continuing education to obtaining employment. Even if they come here with an arranged job, newcomers need settlement support for themselves and their families. Canadian Immigrant has been a guiding star for such newcomers through its print and online publications, and the fair expands its support of Canadian newcomers, not only in Toronto, but in three other cities in 2015 (Halifax - Sept. 8; Calgary - Oct. 15; and Vancouver - Nov. 16).
"We are excited to celebrate the fifth year of our fair in Toronto," says magazine co-publisher Sanjay Agnihotri. "The goal of our fair is to help immigrants find their place in the city, become settled and successful. All the information they need to kickstart their journey is right here under one roof, whether they've been in Canada for five days or five years. As in the past, we have a third-party advisory board which has guided the planning of the fair to create the best, most effective fair possible."
