The National Safe Boating Council released major updates and additions to its award-winning Navigation Rules Awareness website, BoatOnCourse.com. The interactive Sequel introduces recreational boaters to basic navigation rules, including operator's responsibility, maintaining a proper lookout, safe speed, crossing, meeting head-on, and overtaking situations, while getting them excited about learning more about additional rules, boating safety, and creating a greater awareness for the need to take a NASBLA-approved safe boating course.
Featured updates include new chapters and boating scenarios on lights, sound signals, sailing rules, commercial vessels, narrow channels, and exclusion zones. BoatOnCourse.com is recognized with the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators' Seal of Safe Boating and is produced under a grant from the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund, administered by the U.S. Coast Guard.
"We're excited to provide our visitors an opportunity to enhance their knowledge of navigation rules, as well as giving them new information on the 'Rules of the Road,'" said Rachel Johnson, executive director of the National Safe Boating Council.
