CT Energy Marketers Assn. Chooses GoodWorks Insurance for Group Auto Insurance

Members' 13,000 Employees Eligible for Discounted Policies

GLASTONBURY, CT and CROMWELL, CT--(Marketwired - Jun 16, 2015) -  The Connecticut Energy Marketers Association (CEMA) has chosen GoodWorks Insurance to offer an exclusive group auto insurance program to CEMA members' employees. CEMA has more than 500 members with about 13,000 employees.

CEMA member employees who live in Connecticut will receive a 5 percent discount on auto insurance policies from Nationwide Insurance.

"Our members can provide a valuable benefit to their employees at no cost to themselves," said CEMA President Chris Herb. "A unique plus is that part of their premiums will come back to support charities in their communities."

An independent insurance agency in Glastonbury, New Milford and Columbia, GoodWorks Insurance donates 50 percent of its operating profits to local nonprofits that support education, healthcare and public safety through GoodWorks Community Grants. Last winter, GoodWorks and CEMA members teamed up to donate $20,000 to Operation Fuel, which provides emergency energy assistance to low-income people throughout Connecticut.

"GoodWorks is a trusted advisor who did the homework to find the best product for our members, who don't have the time to research the market," Herb said. "This new voluntary benefit lets our members give their employees the equivalent of a bonus."

CEMA members simply agree to sponsor the program. There are no forms for the employer to fill out. Employees pay premiums directly to Nationwide. Additional savings are available to employees who also place their home or apartment insurance with Nationwide.

Bantam Home & Energy in Bantam is the first CEMA member to adopt the new program.

Based in Cromwell, Conn., CEMA consists of Connecticut home heating fuel dealers and gasoline distributors. For more information, see www.ctema.com

GoodWorks (www.goodworksinsurance.com) has three offices in Connecticut and two in Massachusetts. It works with both associations and employers to establish group personal insurance programs.

CEMA members seeking more information about the auto insurance program can contact CEMA at 866-521-4272 or Ed Ryan, senior vice president, GoodWorks Insurance, at eryan@goodworksinsurance.com or (800) 588-8330 ext. 106.
