OKLAHOMA CITY, June 19, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- APMEX, Inc. (www.APMEX.com), today announced that it has named Kenneth Lewis as the company's next Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Lewis joined APMEX in November 2011 and has most recently served as APMEX's Chief Operations Officer.
As COO, Mr. Lewis was responsible for managing APMEX's Information Technology, Merchandising, Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, and Marketing functions. "Ken has led APMEX through a number of milestones including a total website redesign and infrastructure update. He has proven his ability to deliver on projects, manage relationships and grow the business. Mr. Lewis's background before joining APMEX includes the following:
- As a senior executive with The Home Depot he was instrumental in building out and executing the supply chain strategy; Ken also led a distribution network that spanned 23 warehouses, 8+ million square feet under roof, and employee headcount in excess of 2,500.
- Previous to The Home Depot, Ken led the North America Logistics network for Microsoft and was instrumental in improving service levels to customers through state of the art systems and processes while lowering expenses.
- Ken spent eight years at Office Depot progressing through the ranks and held a multitude of roles across the supply chain including positions leading transportation and supply chain development, and concluding with oversight of the retail distribution network.
