TROY, Mich., June 24, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Officials with the Arlington County Police Department in Virginia selected New World Systems® to replace its outdated technology.
Located in the Washington, D.C. area, the agency is in the process of replacing its current public safety system, which has been in use since the 1980s, with New World’s AEGIS™ Law Enforcement Records Management, Field Reporting, Corrections Management, Decision Support public safety software solutions.
According to Captain Jim Daly of the Arlington County PD, with AEGIS Records and Field Reporting, officers will be able to complete forms electronically and eliminate the paper versions that are currently in use. Electronic reports will reduce duplicate data entry and provide more time for law enforcement officers to follow up on cases and offer better community policing.
“Our community expects the best and we are committed to offering top-notch technology,” Daly said. “New World will get us to that point with its state-of-the-art system.”
Daly said New World was selected to replace its current software provider based on its ease-of-use and ability to keep critical information at officers’ fingertips. In addition, more than 150 end-users and subject matter experts were involved in New World’s demonstrations, and overwhelmingly supported New World over other public safety software providers. The decision was further bolstered by recommendations from other New World Systems customers and the quality of their customer support.
“New World’s customer service has been of the highest quality across the board,” Daly said.
Daly said New World will help the police department as it pursues its technology goals. According to Daly, this goal to become more technologically advanced was set by Chief M. Jay Farr who has championed efforts to modernize the department’s technological abilities.
“In the 1990s we were at the cutting-edge of technology,” Daly said. “Then in the blink of an eye, we fell behind and didn’t even realize it. Chief Farr has a vision of where we need to be now and New World will help us get there.”
