PORTSMOUTH, NH--(Marketwired - July 01, 2015) - Q-Centrix announced an agreement today in which its quality healthcare technology and data abstraction solutions were selected by M2S to help support the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI), a joint venture between the Society for Vascular Surgery and M2S, in collecting data on vascular procedures within health systems, hospitals, vein clinics and outpatient facilities. The three-year agreement allows participating hospitals to seamlessly partner or supplement their VQI data abstraction with Q-Centrix, simplifying the process hospitals use to collect critical data for meaningful vascular outcomes.
"We know applying the most up-to-date, evidence-based treatment guidelines improve patient outcomes," explains Greg Lange, president and chief executive officer at M2S. "Consequently, we sought a partner that makes it possible for hospitals to participate in the VQI despite limited staffing resources. Q-Centrix offers a solution for hospitals to eliminate a common barrier to participation."
More than 350 hospital and physician groups in the U.S. and Canada participate in the VQI, a joint venture of M2S and the Society for Vascular Surgery. Data from major vascular procedures is collected and placed within M2S PATHWAYS™ platform. PATHWAYS is a cloud-based technology platform designed to give providers greater control over their vascular data analysis to drive decision-making and optimize performance.
The Q-Centrix quality information system, Q-Apps, combined with the industry's largest and broadest team of nurse-educated quality information specialists enables more hospitals to leverage PATHWAYS technology and participate in the VQI. Q-Apps powers all the solutions within the Q-Centrix portfolio. This platform provides hospitals with the most efficient and accurate data abstraction solution in the industry. Conducting in excess of one million quality data abstractions annually, Q-Centrix is the preferred quality partner to hundreds of hospitals, providing quality surveillance, abstraction, and analysis and improvement solutions. In fact, more than 97% of hospital inquiries into utilizing Q-Centrix result in abstraction partnerships.
An engagement with Q-Centrix and a participating VQI center begins with the assignment of a team of quality information specialists with specific vascular expertise. The team will gain access to a predefined number of patient charts to document distinct actions identified in the VQI Registry requirements. The documentation is reviewed by the hospital and then submitted within PATHWAYS to the Society of Vascular Surgery Patient Safety Organization.
"Our mission is to advance the delivery of care by improving patient safety and outcomes. We are excited to fulfill that objective by partnering and aligning with M2S to help improve the quality of vascular patient care through the VQI," says Q-Centrix chief executive officer, Milton Silva-Craig.
